What is Hunchly?
Hunchly is a browser tool that automatically captures and saves every website you visit during an investigation. If this is your first time using Hunchly, please install it first by following the instructions below.

Download and install Hunchly
Installing Hunchly on Windows
System requirements:
- Windows 10 x64 or higher
- 6th gen Intel Core, 1st gen AMD Ryzen CPU or newer equivalent
- 8GB of RAM – we recommend 16GB of RAM or higher
- 80GB of free hard drive space
Installation steps:
1. Make sure you have Google Chrome installed and that it is not running during the installation. You can download and install Google Chrome here.
2. Download the Hunchly installer.
3. Ensure you have a Hunchly license key on your desktop. If you don't have a license key, download one now.
4. Run the HunchlyInstaller.exe and follow the on-screen instructions.
If the Hunchly browser extension has not been installed, install it now.
Installing Hunchly on Mac
System requirements:
- macOS 11 (Big Sur) or newer
- 8GB of RAM – we recommend 16GB or more
- 80GB of free hard drive space.
Installation steps:
1. Ensure you have a web browser that Hunchly supports installed, such as Google Chrome, and that it is not running during the installation. You can download and install Google Chrome here.
2. Download the Hunchly installer. If you are unsure which installer you need, check out our guide on how to choose the right installer.
3. Open the HunchlyInstaller.pkg file.
4. Download the license key that was emailed to you after you purchased your Hunchly subscription or signed up for a trial. The name should be similar to "hunchlylicense_year_month_day.hlic".
5. Open the Hunchly2 app from the Applications folder, then click the gear icon at the top right to open the settings. Click on the green button "Upload new license" and select the license key file you downloaded in the previous step.
6. Open Google Chrome. If you don't see Hunchly, that's ok! Chrome may have hid it. In Chrome, click the puzzle piece icon at the top right, then click on the pin next to "Hunchly 2" to ensure that Hunchly always shows up. If Hunchly is not in the puzzle piece menu, please install the Hunchly Chrome extension.
7. If you use iCloud Drive backup, open System Preferences > Apple ID > Optimize Mac Storage, and disable "Open Mac Storage".
Activating Hunchly
1. Download the "hunchlylicense_year_month_day.hlic" file that was sent to your email.
2. Open the Hunchly dashboard.
3. Click the gear icon on the top right to open the settings menu.
4. Scroll down to the "License Information" section.
5. Click on "Upload new license".
6. Browse to select the license key file you downloaded in the first step, and click "Open".
