STEP-BY-STEP GUIDES
Maltego ID
To use your Maltego license and log in to your Maltego products, you need to set up your Maltego ID. If you are part of an organization, your Organization Admin needs to add you to your organization's space.
Steps
1. Go to the registration page.
2. Enter your credentials.
3. Verify your email address.
Set up your organization
As an Organization Admin, you need to set up your organization with a couple of simple steps so that your team can access your Maltego products and start investigating.
1. Invite users to your organization
Go to https://app.maltego.com and click on 'Users'.
Click on "Add Users".
Email address-based accounts (standard)
Type in the emails that you want to add to your organization, separated by commas and define their user role.
Username-based accounts (Organization plan)
i. Define the details of the account: username prefix, number of admins and investigators.
ii. Click 'Generate'. The system will generate a list of usernames and one-time login links for each account.
iii. Distribute the credentials and login links with the respective users.
2. Assign products to your team members
3. Enable Maltego Data (Maltego One)
For Maltego Search and Maltego Graph (Browser) to work, Maltego Data Pass must first be enabled by the Organization Admin.
To enable Maltego Data Pass, go to the 'Data' section in Maltego Admin and make sure that the Data Pass toggle is active!
Manage Data and Credits
Organization Admins can manage Maltego Data access and usage, with features like monitoring individual credit consumption on the organization level, as well as assigning credit limits to team members.

Manage Data access
For Maltego Search and Maltego Graph (Browser) to work, Maltego Data Pass must first be enabled by the Organization Admin.
To enable Maltego Data Pass, go to the 'Data' section in Maltego Admin and make sure that the Data Pass toggle is active!
Monitor Credit consumption
To monitor your team's credit consumption, go to the Credits page on Maltego Admin, and select the tab 'Usage Details'.
This tab will show you all Transform runs and searches that has been performed by the users in your organization. This feature can help you check how your organization's credits are being spent across products.
Assign Credit limits
1. Go to the Credits page on Maltego Admin. Under the 'Overview' tab, you will see all your organization's users, as well as their credit usage and allowance details.
2. Select the user you want to set a limit for, and click on 'Set limit'.
3. On the side panel, set the percentage of your organization's total credit allowance. The user will now only have access to this set amount of Credits.
You can use this feature to allocate more credits to power users, and less to occasional users.
E2E Encryption
Ensure the privacy of your investigations by setting end-to-end encryption across your cloud-based cases (available for Maltego One). You can encrypt your cloud-based cases individually or, as an Organization Admin, you can enable mandatory E2E encryption across your entire organization.
Read the full steps below to see how to enable E2E encryption.
1. Set up your Master Password
To set up encryption, you need to set up your personal master password. This password is personal and for individual use only. Make sure you store it safely.
To set up your master password, follow these simple steps:
1. Go to your profile settings and select 'Storage Security'.
2. Select 'Set Master Password'.
3. Enter your new password credentials and click on 'Set Password'.
2. Create and access encrypted files
When you create a new could-based case or investigation, you have the option to encrypt the file. If mandatory encryption is enabled by an Organization Admin, all new cases are automatically encrypted.
Notes
1. Encrypted files can only be accessed with your master password. Make sure you set up your master password.
2. Encrypted files can be shared with your team. To access encrypted files that have been shared with you, you also need your master password.
3. Make E2E encryption mandatory for your organization
As an Organization Admin, you can set mandatory E2E encryption for your entire organization. Doing this will ensure the privacy of all new cloud-based cases and investigations conducted by your team.
Enable organization-wide encryption
1. Open 'Settings' on Maltego Cases, and select 'Case Encryption'.
2. Activate 'Mandatory Encryption'.
Note
Cases created before activating 'Mandatory Encryption' will remain unencrypted.
Generate license keys for Maltego Evidence
1. Go to https://app.maltego.com/users and click on 'Products'.
2. Find Maltego Evidence and click 'Details'.
3. In the Details menu, click on '+ License' and enter the hardware ID given to you by the user for whom you are generating a license key. Make sure to double check the accuracy of the hardware ID, as one license will be deducted even if you enter an incorrect number.
4. After entering the hardware ID, click on the download icon to the right of the field to download the file.
Where to find user hardware IDs
1. Open the Evidence installation file.
2. Locate the hardware ID on the right side of the screen.
3. Copy the hardware ID and send it to the organization admin.
